I also work on old Ford 8N tractors. Just finished building an 8n with a 1937 V8-60 with stainless steel water jackets. It has been a big hit at the old tractor shows, always draws a crowd when I start it with the dual straight pipes.

I've always been a gearhead and a speed freak. My other real hobby right now is my Z06 Corvette. For a while I was really into "Cigarette boats", but thankfully I got out of them - too expensive for a working stiff like me.

I also like to do projects around the house from time-to-time.

Drew Motorcycling is NOT my Hobby, it is my Way Of Life!

Been ridding Bicycles & Motorcycles for too many years to count. Both have been used as my primary means of transport for 50+ years. Now that my Bicycling is over for the most part, due to two back surgeries, the only thing left for my Daily Use is Motorcycling.
I guess you would have to say that Bicycling has been reduced to Hobby status for me, bummer.

IMHO as long as the majority of MC owners treat motorcycling as a Hobby they will always get Second Rate Service and be glad to get it.
If Motorcyclists as a whole treated their MC's like their Cars and put an egual amount of Expectation on the Dealers the quality of service would go up and the Lost Time in the Shop would go down. But then that is wishful thinking in the USA of today where MC's are only a Hobby. JMHO

When I am not winging I am messing with Mustangs. My son and I started a car club recently and a forum similar to this for my Mustang Hobby. Which takes up most of my time now. Used to drag race till injuries got to bad and have restored over 200 Mustangs.

I don't think I could do this for the money, as the money just isn't enough. But for a hobby, the money is a bonus! The biggest payment I get is seeing people acheive their dream of riding a motorcycle.

Th ewife and I both used to shoot NRA centerfire and rim rife rifle and pistol competition but.lik eso many others, my eyes gave out on me. That sucks cuz I really enjoyed it. Oh well, not shooting has sure saved me lots of money. There are many mnay things I enjoy doing. I have two favorites, ATVs, 4x4 kind, and snowmachines. I love taking the ATVs back into the bush. There are places in Alaska you can easily ride in for 100 miles or more one way. With snowmachines I like the mountains and deep powder. I grew up on dirt bikes. Of the 25 or 30 bikes I have owned I'd say close to 90% have been dirt bikes. They are great, bikes in general are great, but they aren't even close to snowmachines on the fun factor scale. I am not a groomed trail rider. I like to break trial back in the mountains where you sink to your waist in powder if you get off of the machine. I like doing 70mph damned near straight up. I have tried a lot of different motor/power sports. IMO, nothing compares to snowmachines.

I must respectfully dissagree. Most people treat their hobbies with more respect because it is their escape from the every day monotony. It's our every day stuff that gets ingnored more often than not because its not fun any more, its routine. I don't mean to imply that riding a bike for every day transport is not fun, but it does become routine.

I used to belong to a boating club and was an officer of the club. I occassionally had to call some pretty high level execs at some big companies as part of my duties with the club (this before e-mail). I would usually get an answer by their assistent who would tell me they were not available. So I'd tell them to leave a message to call Jim with XXXX boating club. Immediately, the assistant would say "just a minute - I'll put you right through to him".

    Ok Flame suit on

One hobby is ceramic pottery. Here my son is helping fire a pot, in a style called Raku. I am pulling a pot out of the kiln at 1850 degrees.

And the whole family enjoys cycling. Here is one of my all time favorite pictures. My son and I riding together about 10 years ago.

White-water kayaking, camping, and rock climbing. The wing is simply the most fun way to get to locations where I can do the other three.

Motorcycling is a way of life for me too. I log more miles on my bike each year then some people drive their cars.

That said, I'm an avid day hiker. Living in the western part of NC, I'm in close proximity to some great trails.

Was really getting into pistol shooting, the scarity of ammo and put a halt to that.

Like to cook and hang with like-minded folks that like to enjoy good food, good wine and ride bikes.

Hobby besides M/C. Collecting post war Lionel electric trains. Have too much, but also have too many motorcycles. I enjoy making the old trains run again.

Nearly lifetime model railroader (from age 3). Toy trains and Scale modeling. I participate in many other activities including many others mentioned here but I wouldn't call them hobbies. Keeps me occupied during our long winters.

I don't know what shooting sport you fancy. I participated in IPSC and it's like playing a live video game with live ammo.
