    Default 1986 Suzuki Cavalcade LXE

I know this is a wing forum... I bought mine recently and figured ...while i am having my morning coffee... it is worth a shot!

1986 Suzuki Cavalcade LXE. This was the top of the line model.

1400cc V-4, 49K mi (nothing for these...many go 200k+) lots of unique yet tasteful (IMHO) upgrades including LED markers, HID headlamp, Upgraded stereo with xm radio (have the original set up), tomtom rider GPS, which may or not go with it depending on selling price, trunk rack, custom exhaust tips, highway pegs and a TON MORE... (have many more pix available) Cosmetically it is in nice (but not perfect) shape. Runs great and everything works.

Bike is in central massachusetts... 3200.00

I am sure you will have a tough time reaching me due to the high volume of calls...PLEASE BE PATIENT!!!

    Default Lxe

Sure liked my '86 and '88 LXE's. Sold mine because I couldn't get parts. Would be interested but in my area, parts are like dinosaur bones. GREAT BIKE!

That is not EXACTLY true...I won't argue that if you brought it to a Suzuki dealership to have work done on it ... to them it is much like "the Lock Ness Monster or Bigfoot" (they have heard of them...but never seen either!!)

There are a few guys who specialize in these bikes on line and a couple of forums and there are plenty of used parts out there to keep them going. Once you sort them out...which I have done to this one...they are VERY reliable. And since they made less than 10K of them...they are quite rare. (how many do you think are left?)

I have way more invested in this bike than I will ever see for it...but I wanted a Wing (and now have one )and am running out of room in the garage!

Gentleman, this guy is trying to sell his bike, if you were in his situation would you appreciate your comments?

I had a Cavalcade. A great, feature-laden TOURING bike for the open road... very reliable, and this one seems to be priced very reasonably!

Not anything like the current GL1800 as-far-as overall handling for 2-lanes or weight distribution (top heaviness) for sport-touring duty, but an excellent piece for what it's intended to be.

Someone SHOULD BUY this great interstate sled right away and hit the open road!

I think that was one of the best bikes Suzuki ever built! I loved the passenger headrest. They could take a nap as long as the velcro held. Suzuki hasn't made one that nice since. I had the first dresser (83 gs1100 GKD)

The 1200 watercooled V was a reliable motor too. I hope you sell it for more. You might Ebay it in spring and it should bring a K more.

free bump. good luck. looks great.

    Beautiful bike.

If memory serves me right, Connie Kalitta, the drag racer, used to ride something similar. Met his riding buddy while delivering mail, he told me that Connie rode his bike the same as the drag racer, pedal to the metal, but, also loved touring.

I fully expect to "sit on it" for the winter... You are right in the fact that it might pull more in the spring...but based on what they have been selling lately for I doubt it would pull an extra 1K!!

That's real sweet looking for the age,
back in the day I came real close to pulling
the trigger on a yr old one. The passenger
backrest and headrest always made me think
of a dentist's chair (especially from the rear angle view)
Anyway, here's a free bump to keep the fire going on a great buy.

    Dave,

That's a real beauty you have there. I just love the classic look of many of the 80s bikes. They still looked like bikes, not completely covered with plastic.

I hope you are advertisings in other venues as well (CycleTrader, etc). There are some folks who just love to keep these classic bikes running and looking good, and don't have the luxury of five figures to spend on a bike. I think if you find the right market, you can actually do a bit better than what you're asking.

I still can't let go of my '87 Gold Wing for the same reasons. Just too nice.

    Good luck with it.

Obviously I didn't expect to sell it here...but it was worth a shot...

I am in the process of doing a couple of little things to it...just to make it nicer for the next owner...Then ebay ...that seems to be the best place for moving one of those. It is a hard bike to sell...mainly because MOST people have never seen or heard about them. But with less than 10K total made...how many could be left? I will try it there soon or wait till spring. It is not a fire sale...I just am trying to reduce my fleet of toys.

I love my new (to me) wing...but the cade has Much Better wind protection and storage room! But in every other respect there is no comparison.
