Being from Savannah, you are probably no stranger to good seafood, but here are a few that we enjoy while visiting the Biloxi/Gulfport area.

Biloxi Schooner - good for lunch and PoBoys - 871 Howard Avenue, Biloxi, MS
    Cafe' New Orleans - D'iberville, MS http://www.cafeneworleansdiberville.com/
The White Cap Restaurant - 560 East Beach Boulevard, Gulfport, MS
Blow Fly Inn - Gulfport, MS - http://blowflyinn.com/

There are numerous other places worthwile on the MS Gulf Coast.

    - The Shed Barbque - Hwy 53, Lyman, Ms and the original (which recently burned down, but being
rebuilt and still serving) at the Ocean Springs, Hwy 57 exit north.
    - Hokies Barbque - Lucedale, MS ( about 50 miles north of the coast, but easy access if riding thru
the woods back toward Mobile, AL.)
    - Leatha's BBQ - Hwy 98 West Hattiesburg, MS ( A very popular BBQ place in this area )

Beignets in the morning - Da Little Cafe 2402 McLauren Street, Waveland, MS (west of Bay St Louis)
    - Triplett Day Pharmacy 2429 14th Street, Gulfport, MS (never ate
here, but this little hole in the wall was voted best beignets in
    the state for several years)

As for riding back home, the Beach Blvd drive on the MS coast is always nice ( just heavy traffic at times ), Hwy 15 north to Hwy 26 will take you into Lucedale, MS (Hokies BBQ), then take Hwy 98 into Mobile, Al. You can then take old Hwy 90 across the north of Mobile Bay arriving at Felix's Fish camp for an excellent meal, then cross the bay on old 90, take Hwy 98 south thru old town Daphne (on Main St.) all the way into Fairhope. Head east towards Magnolia Springs, arrive in Gulf Shores (eat at LuLu's on the intracoastal waterway) and take the beach drive towards Perdido Key pass. Spend the afternoon at the NAS Air Force museum, Pensacola, Fl and then catch another road or hit I-10.

Enjoy your stay here on the Coast!

    Rigger,

Hope this isn't too late... In "The Bay" - Cuz's on 603.... In Pass Christian - Pirates Cove for some good po-boys, Shaggy's out on the water, then down here in Long Beach - Darwell's, Bull's, Cajun Crawfish Hut, Steve's Marina Cafe, Harbor View, Tomataro's, The Rusty Pelican etc...

Come see us at Sunni's Cycle & Marine on Beatline Road and we'll pass on some others as well. Heck, we'll toss you a SchWAG bag just for being in our neck of the woods....

    Later gator! Safe trip home!

    Jim

PS - How's that for RAIN!

Cool Dave, Put Darwell's on y'alls agenda - Guy Fieri from Diners Drive Inns and Dives loves the place and so do we! Ecletic is an understatement, but well worth the trip. Stop in an see us at the shop, we'll be glad to show you the local's favorite spots!

BTW - you planning on New Iberia for the SCRC Rally or just because you want to go to Avery Island?

We had planned last year to ride the Natchez Trace down from north Alabama and stay around Lafayette or some cabin she had seen east of Lafayette then coming to Avery Island.
Wife is off 1st week in October and the Gumbo Cookoff is then but we may come during the summer. I have been looking at Talimena Scenic Drive and Boston Mountains Scenic Loop in Arkansas possibly in Oct.
If I am around Long Beach I will stop in Jim.

Thanks for the information. I will be working in Pearlington MS on the 26th and 27th. Going to start out tomorrow morning. I just didn't want to ride on the interstate over so I am going to take the back roads.
Might stay in a camp gound Cheha state park in Alabama.
