    Default plexus 24dollars????

I stopped at the local dealer and was shocked to see a can of plexus for 23.95, I didn't buy one and still have a little left, I think it's time to look for something else, question is, is there another product that gives the same results at a more affordable price, I would to see what others are using

I like Plexus too but I passed on buying the large can the other day at a nearby Honda dealer. It was over $26.00 including tax. Absolutely ridiculous!

    I use Novus.

You can find it for ten bucks in a pump 8 ounce spray at most Harley dealers. Cheaper (and larger, more economical sizes) at Amazon.com.
Some ACE Hardware stores carry it. Also, may find it at Home Depot.

It is a bit pricey, but one large can easily lasts a full year of riding and nothing works better, that I have found. When you factor in all the costs of touring per year, $25.00 really isn't too much to pay for a nice clean, rain repellent windsheild imho. I do wish it was cheaper though.

On my windshield I first use regular old hydrogen peroxide (3%) which is $0.88 for 32 oz. After I get the bugs off I use Lemon Pledge or Honda Spray Polish whichever I have at the time. Does a great job for me. BTW, I have used Plexus and Novus in the past and I really can't tell that those are better products than Pledge or Honda Spray Polish. JMO

    Default I use REJEX

Rejex, bought at Amazon for about 16. for a 16 oz bottle. Great on windshield and a super wax for paint, chrome, etc. Does not cake white crap on rubber or trim. I keep a bottle in the bike all the time for keeping face shield clean and windshield polished up.

I certainly use the hydrogen peroxide and it works very well.

Have not tried the Pledge. Lemon or otherwise.

I use "210 Plastic Cleaner & Polish" sold by the Tulsa Windshield folks... considerably cheaper and almost identical in consistancy and results to Plexus. Problem is, I purchased my last small can in a kit with windshield cover, polishing cloth, etc. The price for a 14oz (only) can including BIG SHIPPING COST is like $26! Don't know what I'll do next. I currently have enough of both brands on hand to get me thru 2012.

WAIT! LOOKS LIKE YOU CAN GET IT CHEAP FROM BOAT AND AIRCRAFT OUTLETS OFF THE INTERNET!!!

210 Polish/Cleaner works just like Plexis at almost 1/2 the price. Available at Gander Mountain.

Honda brand cleaner/wax does a great job and cost about $5 at any dealer. You use it on any part of the bike.

Best and least expensive bug cleaner going! Be sure to keep it in a dark colored bottle if you transfer it from a big bottle to a small spray bottle. Exposure to light will cause it to degrade. That's why you always see it in opaque bottles.

Peroxide dissolves the proteins in bug guts. Just spray it on and let it sit for a little while before wiping off. The bugs will foam up and liquify.

I like PLEXUS but at $24 I tried the $4.99 Honda Spray which is not bad but it contains wax and you have to really polish it out. I USED PLEXUS on the shield and all plastic. I wish someone would make a real knockoff of this product and sell for less. $24 a can is a joke and the HONDA spray DOES NOT WORK AS GOOD

When I want to detail it, I use Purple Slice that I purchased at the Harley dealership for $24.99 qt. Expensive but does a good job and doesn't take much. Bought a quart 2 years ago and still have half of it left.

Usually I just spray windshield and fairing with hydrogen peroxide, wash entire bike with water, towel dry and go for high speed ride to blow dry it further.

I never knew about the peroxide technique.

My technique after every ride is: 1) Feather duster the entire bike to remove abrasive particles that can scratch the clear coat. This takes just a minute or two. 2) dampen a towel and drape the towel over the wind screen and fairing for a few minutes. That usually loosens up the bugs enough that they easily wipe right off. 3) Then I apply carnauba wax, or, if away from home use the Plexis or other substitute. Entire process takes maybe 10 minutes.

Yeah...Plexus has priced themselves completely out of the market in my book. I was griping about $9 a can the last time I bought a case. When I was at Deals Gap recently, it was $24.95 for the large can. Forget it....I don't need it that bad. There's about 10,000 other products that will do the job, not the least of which is SOAP and WATER.

you can find novas a little cheaper at a boat supply place. Also it is better to clear up small lite scraches on your windshield but will not be as good for the body parts, its for plexi glass really

Yep, good stuff indeed. But if the stuff below is an effective knock off, it looks to be about the best deal on a WS cleaner I've seen yet!

Do not be afraid to try Pledge. Seriously. That is all I ever used on my fiberglass bass boats and it works good. I use it on my Wing as well.

You have a point. Even though I swear by honda cleaner/polisher I will try this unless someone posts a negative.

I used pledge for a great many years.........

Now I use ICE..........but Turtle wax.......in a spray bottle, does great . All you have to watch out for is the turtle getting stuck in the spray nozzle.
