    Default Custom paint on F6B

I am looking at purchasing a F6B so I called my dealer. I asked him if I could pick any color and was told that I could. He said the paint has a life time warranty on it and that they have a color wheel I could pick from. I asked him if I could get the yellow like my current wing and he told me yes. Now I have to go test ride the bike and see if I want one.

My problem is what bike should I get rid of to get the F6B. Should I get rid of the BMW R1200GS or the 01 Goldwing? Its hard to see either bike go but I don't need five bikes sitting in my garage.

I'd keep the GS. There's a reason you never see used ones for sale. And you don't need two of the same kind of bike.

I was thinking about his spouse and she may not like the F6B, because it doesn't have a trunk and she may not want to take a ride on it. Remember if Mama ain't happy, no one is happy.

I agree Trikelady--in my case my darling little wife can`t ride as much since an operation last July--so the F6B fits us just fine--she can still do short rides---now if the stinking FLHTC would sell------

    Default Custom paint on F6B

Keep your wing I did, F6B needs a cruise control badly.
Plenty of complaints about soft paint on the other F6B Forums,
and I do know from first hand exprience, I have red deluxe

Thanks for the replies. I may just wait a little while to see the issues and accessories that are going to come out. No cruise is almost a deal killer for me. I ride a lot of distance and it sure is nice to set the cruise and rest that right hand at times.

IMHO, I can't see why anyone would need more than one, or two AT THE MOST, street bikes. Maybe like my son, a cruiser/tourer, and a crotch rocket for that adreneline rush, and yes, MAYBE an off road machine. But, it's America and if you can afford it, who's to say. But why ask total strangers to make your decision ????????? Kind of sounds like you're trying to impress someone !!!!

Sorry you feel that way about me. My objective was for input not to be little you or try impress people I don't know or will probably never meet. Also I was not asking people to make my decision, I was asking for opinions. Sometimes it helps me to see the reasoning of others so I can see all sides of an issue. In the above statement you stated that you can't see why anyone would need more than one, or two at the most, street bikes. THEN you answer your own statement by stating Maybe like my son, a cruiser/tourer, and a crotch rocket and an off road machine. Are you trying to impress someone about your son ??

just to clarify.. unless you happen to pick red or black, they are going to repaint a new bike for you, right?

    thanks,

Wow, I have not noticed soft paint on my red Deluxe. In fact, I have kicked the right saddlebag several times mounting the bike and the smudge just wipes right off.

Although a cruise would be nice, I have learned to suffice with my Go Cruise throttle lock. I have rode for several hours with the throttle lock and it works quite well to keep me from having to have a constant grip on the bars. Nice to have a cruise but I don't miss it that much.
