    Default What do I win?

I rode to work today. Hit the button to display the outside temp. It said "--F" Didnt know if it was a secret code that you mailed into Honda and got a free insulated tire gauge. Just never seen this before. I know I've seen 16 degrees. I figured it was Honda telling me it was too cold to be out. It's a good possibility as it was only 8 degrees at 4 this morning...

On a side note, where does the temp reading fall off?

I understand that it will not read lower than 14 degrees.

    That be correct.

It's Honda's way of saying you're a dang idiot for being out riding at that temperature. Seriously - It's where the indicator unit's range ends - just the way it is. I've got some gear that I calibrate that the lower rated end is 0C / 32F.

I can't speak for the OP but I ride in those temperatures because I have a riding affliction. Please don't find a cure for me.

I ride as long as no snow or ice on the road. Temp gauge this morning read 16F .. that is the coldest I've ridden I yet...even though the weather guessers were saying it was 13 degrees before I left the house.

We have been below 0 at nights for some time now, coldest winter I can remember for a long time. Just happy it reached 39 on the way home from work. That was pleasant. I'll put it in perspective: My 8 degrees is like N. Florida's 40, you dont like to ride in it much, but if you've been cooped up since New year's day, and the roads are dry and clear, you gotta get out and ride

I wanted to take a picture of it, but I was so bundled up, I couldnt get to my phone to take a pic. Mainly because I hadnt seen the "--" before. We've got another cold snap coming the first of the week, so I'll try and get a pic then.

Fingertips...man I cant find a set of gloves that work well below 20 degrees. Tried a number of them. Even found Refrigiwear.com, thinking there we go. Rated at 20 below, hands were cool at 30 on our new years day ride. Need to find a snowmobile outfit. I have heated gloves, they are just cumbersome and not real comfy for me. Love the heat, just cant feel the controls well...

In 1 word: "rubber latex gloves." These are the thin hospital-type gloves. Put these on before the heavy gloves. These, and mirror wings, will solve the problem. BB

The politicians who go on and on about global warming must have gotten their brains fried on one of their many Caribbean vacations paid for by illegal lobbyist donations!

Even after the ice and crap is gone, there's the salt and salt residue all over everything, and the air is thick with salt dust. And now with the shortage of salt in some areas, they're mixing in sand and spreading that crap on the roads. That may improve driving on snow and ice, but really makes it difficult for motorcycling when the stuff melts. YUK!

I guess I came in second. It too happened to me this morning just showed the two dashes before the "F".

And like the original poster, I wasn't about to take my gloves off, unzip my snowmobile suit and dig out my iPhone to take a pix of it. LOL

My breath did freeze on the inside of my helmet shield though......that wasn't fun.
