23Ju07 The Super Brace is not causing any binding and has put some rigidity into the front forks. I have decided to keep it on as it has improved the slow speed handling.

Since I have read even more that the Superbrace causes stiction and premature bearing and seal failure, I removed it today. Took a short ride and didn't notice any change in steering performance. The decel wobble is still present. I will leave it off until after I replace the tires and re-evaluate it then.

Monday 30Jun08 14,201 Miles

Installed the following farkles from roadtripessentials.com from Hal. These went on in several minutes without a hitch!

RTE-034 07 Dark Blue Radio Panel

RTE-060 Dark Blue Clutch and brake levers.

Painted the valve cover head monikers with a Honda dark blue color auto touch up paint from Pep Boys auto parts store.
Its not an exact match but looks really good anyway!

Also clean crankcase breather drain tube while I had the valve covers off.

Saturday 05Jul08 14,360 miles

Replaced air filter with Honda Genuine Part #17210-MCA-A60.

This took me 4 hours at a leisurely pace, following the Honda Service Manual. And everything worked when I got the bike back together!

Friday 11Jul08 14,571 Miles

Install Road Trip Essentials Front Fender Extension part # RTE-021DB. Would have went on in less than an hour, but took some time to sand and clean front wheel while I had the fenders off.

Saturday 02Aug08 15,498 Miles

Had Honda Powersports of Crofton install Metzelers ME880 130 70R18 MC 63H (front) & 180 70R16 MC 77H (rear) tires today. The decel wobble is gone, for now. I will keep an eye one it (or more like a hand). The ride is improved but I expect that any new tire will improve the ride from worn out tires.

Update 03Sep08 Didn't realize that the Metz are a 70 Series tire. It does give the bike about a 1-inch lift. I think the 60 Series will be a better fit for this horizontally challeged guy.

Monday 01Sep08 16,331 Miles

Installed Speedohealer to resolve odometer error. Went in real easy. Error with 70 Series Tires was only -0.5% The 70 Series was an error the dealer made but I will run on it anyway. Will have to readjust the Speedohealer on next set of tires.

Also installed Road Trip Essentials Part #RTE-025DB Fairing Intake Vents painted to match 07 Blue.

Sunday 17May09 Approximately 20,000 miles

Long time since last maintenance login.

Oil and filter changed. AMSoil 10W40 MCF-1G Full Synthetic and Honda Oil Filter.

Here are a few items that have been added since last login:

Installed Roadtripessentials.com RTE-023 07 Blue Handlebar Dampers;

Insulated left and right glove boxes with fleece material, poly insulating blanket material and aluminum tape. My MP3 player, amongst other items, was getting super heated in the glove box;

Installed Signal Dynamics Diamond Star Headlight Modulator with remote Switch. Still haven't jumped the high beam yet so only one highbeam light modulates;

Purchased a HJC CL-33 White 3/4 helmet for my wife. Her older HJC 1/2 helmet had been dropped and beat up too many times. Beside we wanted to work out the intercom communications. Installed the HS-8154 J&M headset. Found out that there is a short in my Scorpian EXO/J&M headset microphone. Will try out a another cord before taking anything apart;

Installed Baker Hand Wings Blue. I love the air that can be directed into me!

Tuesday 22Sep09 22,544 Miles

Finally broke down the front fairing to splice the high beams together to complete the headlight modulator modification. I had to remove the seat, windshield, dash, shelter, etc, etc. to get to the rear of the highbeams. What a pain this was.

While I was there, I took out the relay for the fog lights so I could run them on with high beams......but it disengaged reverse! Without the relay, pressing the reverse button didn't turn on the reverse light or put it in reverse. So I put the relay back in.

Now for the problem. When I turn the key on, the bike gurgles for several seconds! I'll post in the Tech section for help and update here when I get an answer. -It's the fuel pump and it probably always did it.

Oh yeh, both highbeams modulate now!

Friday 11Dec09 25,380

Joined the Darkside and installed a Dunlop SP SPORT 3000 DSST 195/55 R16 87V runflat car tire from tires-easy.com on the rear of my Wing. Looking forward to getting a lot more mileage out of my tires!

Here's a pic of a Metzler rear tire after 10,000 miles.

Here's the birthing of a Darksider.

Sunday 07Feb10 25,695 Miles

End of maintenance log. With 4 months of unemployment and not being able to keep up with payments, the Wing was repo'd today. Sad to see it go but times are tough. Have to concentrate on food clothing and shelter.

I did take off alot of the farkles which will end up on eBay!
