Has anybody done a compression test on the 1800? What values did you get? How many miles were on the bike at the time of the test? A search of the Tech threads doesn't show anything.

I have not seen anything in print as to the compression in lbs. The main thing is that you do it the same way on all 6 cylinders and that the readings should be very close from cylinder to cylinder. That's one tool that I didn't bring south with me. If you do yours then please post your results.

The service manual give the specs for new and limits. Honda engines don't wear-out, so nobody needs to do compression testing.

The service manual states 201 lbs. @ 300 RPM, but there is no service limit listed.

I ran one on mine at 25k. The right side were all at 200 PSI and the left side were all at 198 PSI.
Both of my service manuals, from 2002, and from 2007, are the same; 201 PSI @ 300 RPM with no service limit.

The GL1500 manual gives 213 PSI as the compression, with 185-242 being the normal and 142 being the limit. I'd expect the 1800 to be within about 10 PSI of those numbers since it starts out at 201.

I had my '03 with 90k miles on it tested before I bought it. The mechanic said he was suprised at how good the compression was and it was 220-225 in all cylinders.
