Absoutely!

Start pulling up on the plastic behind the ignition switch. If you've never had the dash off before, it will be tight and it takes a little muscle to get it off the first time. Everything else is the same. You might have to raise the levers that tighten the windshield, but otherwise, it comes off as described.

Bartman, Thanks for the info on the dash.
I took it off with ease following our pics and video.
New one went on perfect.

Default speaker connections

I can not seem to unsnap the speaker harness and am afraid to pull to hard for fear of pulling a wire loose or worse. any suggestions?

As you sit on the bike, the release tab is on top and to the right. This part of the harness that goes to the meter panel is the female of the plug. The male part is affixed to a stay. Push down on the release with your right hand and use a long screwdriver with your left to force the female plug to the right. Some folks clip the release lock prior to reassembly so next time is easier. Use some dielectric grease also.

I believe he's referring to the "tweeter/speaker" wires, not the connector in front of the ignition.

I don't know how to explain it any better than I did in the instructions and pictures above.

Oops.

The release tab for the tweeter wires are inboard. Little fingers or pull a pick.

It does. Start at the front of the meter panel (by the ignition switch) Pull up. Mine was very hard at first but after a few times the grommets loosen up. Also the meter panel for a airbag model is removed the same way as a none airbag model

Thanks Bartman - I just spent an hour poking at the harness from evey angle... I had a small one under the clip and I had a larger one trying to push - just not at the same time!!
This is a great help. Should have fired up my PC before I got the toolbox opened!

Bartman, thanks for the instructions. We installed reg risers today and this really helped. The video on releasing the electrical connector was especially helpfull.
