Default Ride to Baltimore for hot dogs

For those living in the Baltimore area (Margarita Will, Wheels, Blondie) and anyone else...
Has anyone ever been to this place and is it in a safe area of the city.
Looks like they have some awesome dogs.
It was on Diners Drive ins and Dives....

I went there some time ago, to visit my sister who lived in Randallstown, (and now lives in PA), but to be honest, I've stepped up to the Big Time. They were good and filled me up well. Reminds me a bit of the old Coney Island Hot Dog.

I've had dogs from NY to PA to OH and IN all the way thru to Calif, but the best I've tasted is the Chicago Style (IMHO). My son-in-law (jersey) originally told my daughter that it's not all that, and is only a Hot Dog with a Salad on top. LOL !!! Once he had one, he refuses to go anywhere when I pick them up from the airport until we go and get one, and he won't get back on a plane until we stop and buy 2 for the trip back to the airport. NOW he also likes the Maxwell St Polish too.

This pic is missing the cucumber slices tho.

I been enjoying these since 1979 even at The Dog House in Villa Park.

Default Hot dogs

I second Ann's for the best footlongs. I have been eating them since on solid food after I was born ( As evidence look at my waistline!)

When I saw this thread, I just had to go to Google (web and maps) to see what I could find...

Whaddayaknow... Guy Fieri did visit the G&A Restaurant in Baltimore (Highlandtown, actually).

Bill, that place is just a little over three miles from my house - and walking distance of where Wheels grew up... He'd have to know the place if it's been around as long as claimed...

Now, not bein' originally from Baltimore, I didn't know about the G&A Restaurant, but my wife just came downstairs to do some laundry (my computers are in the basement, A/K/A "The Basement of Terrifying Technology") and I asked whether she knew about the G&A Restaurant and her response was "Oh my gawd, yes... It's been there forever."

I told her some folks were contemplating making a hot dog run there from Pennsylvania and her question was "they do know it's a dump, don't they?" I told her - that was the point!

But I do have to second (or is that third?) Cooch & Dan Kenney's mention of Ann's Dari-Creme at 7918 Ritchie Highway, Glen Burnie, Maryland, (410) 761-1231 - famous for their footlongs...

When I was working at NSA we'd occasionally make hot dog runs to "Miss Ann's". Years and years ago when land was procurred to build the Marley Station Mall, the owners of Ann's wouldn't sell their land to the developers. So today, you have this huge mall with Ann's perched on the corner. Looks just a teensy bit out of place, but I admire their spunk!

Of course that was in the days before [Kelo v. New London] when the U.S. Supreme Court decided that their right of eminent domain was more important than our right of private property ownership guaranteed by the [Fifth Amendment].

But I digress...

Will,
It is worth a trip to Toledo, trust me. If you go have the M.O.A.D., aka Mother of All Dogs, be hungry. Neat place, nice folks, kind of a crummy neighborhood, but my Wing has been in their lot a fair number of times and not a problem. Take the trip and enjoy.
RIde safe.

Ann's Dari-Creme :>(

This is the place that puts MUSTARD on a steak sub.

I just couldn't believe it when I took that first bite.

Does Ann's have coffee??????????

Not sure if they have coffee, but their foot-longs, steak subs, and milkshakes are TO-DIE-FOR!!! I used to live only a few miles from Ann's

Weather and work schedule permitting, hubby & I might be in.

G & A is a dump. I would not recommend it to anyone...

There is a place under the I83 expressway in downtown B'more . Its right next door to the SuperMAx prison and its called the Dog House. Bill, that would be like being at work for you..... Been to long to remember if the dogs were good but they had killer meat loaf... Stand up eating only though...

Ann's sounds like the place ... Milkshakes AND a foot long... Bingo !!!!!
