I guess it's time to start the chatter. We are already into fall/winter weather, so let's start planning the 2.5!
The Pendelton area was really nice and staying in one place for two nights has some great benefits. Shall we do it again? May 21-23

I've always liked the progressive sort of ride. Seems fun to me to travel a route. Maybe we should make the 2.5 into a ride without end - just keep going with people dropping in and out as they see fit.
Actually I like the Pendleton idea. there are a lot of rides from there that we didn't get to do. We really NEED to ride Dooley mountain over near Baker City.

Dooley Mtn. was great last year, quite a bit of brand new pavement and all of it was at least "good" condition.
Oh, you guys didn't ride it last year . That's right, just those of us who had to get a new tire and then missed a turn got to ride it, LOL!Paul

![]() I love 395 but, 244 From Ukia to LaGrande is nice, 74 through Heppner, 206 to Condon, 218 - Fossil to Shaniko are all good. Then there are all those great roads between I-5 and the coast!!! This is a great site - you've probably seen it - for reference. We could spend the better part of winter here looking and dreaming! http://www.motorcycleroads.us./states/or.html I'd guess we'd all better have new skins by May . . .

Pentleton works great for me. Would like to have more time to ride the area. Now the 2.5 will be the weekend of May 22???? We have to make time off plans early.

I had a terrific time last year, and really enjoyed the Pendleton area. I will definitely keep the calender open again in 2010.

Well I'm am thicker than you, Paul. AND I am so acronymically challenged that you'll have to spell it out for me before I get to laugh.

I really like the idea of Pendleton, but am not sure if I can make it as I'm probably headed for Hyderseek and some riding in BC starting around 5/26. I'll keep in on my radar.
One suggestion I would offer is to have multiple routes for each day. Then come back to the BBQ at the motel for a little story telling and bragging about which ride was the best. . . Timmer

Providing my work schedule allows, I will be attending the 2.5 ride again in '10'. Pendleton has some very nice rides around there. I'm also open to other areas as well. Just makes a great chance to explore some routes never ridden before. I would like to ride the "Rattlesnake" I've heard so much about. Sounds and looks like a blast.
Sorry more of you couldn't make the Mini-Chiliburger run this year. I really enjoyed the ride with Redeye, Gordon, and Tom. Just a mere 17F when we left saturday morning, boy was my face cold, guess I should invest in a full face/modular helmet this year.

I was sorry to miss that ride, but . . . life gets in the way.
I like my HJC Symax. Fits as good as a Shoei! I started using a modular after I got tired of being pelleted with hail. Quote:

I wasn't gonna mention the BBQ!! The steaks with all the trimmings was fantastic, but it was those 1/12 lb lobster tails that put the meal over the top!!! Not to mention the Hooter girls you had there serving us. I still can't believe your SO let you hire them.

Pendelton 09 was a hoot. Here is a couple just before the pig out.....
and that did not include others to the left under the baclony, the campers, the ones in another motel, etc But we did have our token Harley in the open..... ![]()

For those of us new guys, can someone elaborate on exactly what the 2.5 is.
I did like the lobster tail / steak BBQ served by the Hooter girls, but I just found out that there is no Easter bunny or Santa Claus and I fear someone is exaggerating. ![]() Thanks Jersey Dave |

Look at some of the older 2.5 threads. You'll find we are some of the longest winded guys on the board

My wife and I enjoyed it some much we are hoping to be able to make this year too.
It wouldn't be right if you think it's going to be in our back yard again... Looking forward to it. My wife didn't even recognize the Hooter's Girls, she's has led a sheltered life. hehehehe

Missed last year's 2.5 as I was on the road down Hiway 395 to Chico, Ca during the Pendleton get together. Sounds like I really missed out. Have room for four to six of ya in my back yard in Pullman, Wa. From Pullman we can go through Lewiston, ID down Rattlesnake Grade and over to Pendelton. It's a real nice ride. Another good trip is to Bear Cat Lodge in Seneca, OR on Hiway 395. Can stay at the lodge and ride JW Everitt's KTM 990's around Seneca on dirt roads for a little variety.
Anyone set a date yet? Selah! |
